Preventing the 5 Classic Business Disasters That Owners Go Out Of Their Way to Create

It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak last evening at Truman College, as part of their Fall 2010 Continuing Education Entrepreneurship Series: Starting & Developing Your Small Business. I addressed the issue of truly understanding why classic business disasters occur and what steps can be taken by a business owner to prevent them.  The 5 Classic Disasters are:

  1. Choosing A  Business Entity That Provides No Protection And No Management Control;
  2. Failing To Have Any Documents That Have Any Rules or Restrictions For Co-Owners;
  3. Employing Individuals Without Protecting Your Business Against Mis-Classification and Misconduct;
  4. Failing To Protect Your Business From Your Own Vendors;
  5. Misunderstanding The Role of the Business Attorney: "Assassin v. Bodyguard."

For all who would like more information about these Disasters and how to prevent them, feel free to go to my web site at www.dregerlaw.com.
